When it comes to solving climate change, one of the most frequently cited solutions is also an old-fashioned one: to plant more trees. By breathing and storing CO2, flora certainly do play an integral role in the global ecosystem. Several global projects to plant trees in the billions have sprouted from the idea that trees might be the way to a better world. But are trees and tree-planting truly the magic-bullet solution to climate change that they've been touted as?
